Can you feel the time pressure the way I am feeling it now?
We have been so busy here these days! We are trying to catch-up on multiple projects, working inside and outside the house, so the feeling of the time flying is crazy! Now it is time for confession. I have always been a person who performs best under the time pressure. Back in school, I had met a few people who would be working on the assignment the day they got it, and I was always amazed how disciplined they were. That is simply NOT me. I need an inspiration moment to write a good assignment (a good post/etc.). Working on the One Room Challenge has been a bit different. First, as I am really excited to be part of the event. Second, being able to finally upgrade our bedroom feels soooo good :). But I can definitely feel more time pressure now, and it makes my brain cells’ connections work faster (if that is even possible haha).
Anyway,
Here is our Week 5 One Room Challenge update for the Master Bedroom renovation. The bedroom looks SO different already! I love how it is all coming together so nicely, but once in a while, I would question myself whether it is what we have been aiming for. You know those “big and little doubts” moments… More on that below.

First, what has been done this week:
Painted the wallpaper. Yaaayyy!
We have applied primer first, You can see the difference on the left side as half wall is primed:
Painted two layers of dark gray paint (colour ‘Cast in Stone’, Ecologic by Cloverdale):
Added shiny glitter layer on top:
It is a completely different room now!
It looks so beautiful! I can’t wait to have the headboard finished and put all the décor items together! The room’s transformation is unbelievable, but as I have mentioned my doubts above, I am now asking myself if the room reflects who we are now. What I mean is that both my husband and I we are, huge fans of a contemporary, almost minimalist design. Our room is far away from being minimalist. This project has probably revealed a more glamorous part of me. A girly side of me that I have been trying to hide for many years. I am living with 3 boys, remember? I haven’t had pink clothes up until maybe two years ago when I finally got a pink shirt. Two years later, I probably have two 🙂
Can you see what I mean?
Don’t get me wrong, I am not a Tomboy type of girl. No. I like dressing up, and I do wear dresses and skirts pretty often. But I am far away from being a glamorous diva. This is why I am very surprised to have done what we have done. And my husband is very surprised as well. Still, we are loving the results and can’t wait to show you the reveal next week!
We have a few paint touch-ups to do still. The lighting pendant is up as you can see. The ceiling lighting will be installed on Thursday, and we will be working on the One Room Challenge reveal this coming weekend. Oh. My. God. I have butterflies in my stomach. The good ones 🙂
Are you coming to see our Mater Bedroom One Room Challenge reveal next week? Hope to see you here! I will have some cookies for you too 🙂
