  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas (you can use canned chickpeas)
  • .5 - 1 cup water used for cooking chickpeas try adding .5 cup first and add more if needed
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • .5 tsp mix of ground coriander and cumin
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • .5 lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste approx. 1 tsp salt
  • add red hot pepper if you like spicy


  • Cook the chickpeas.  Toast sesame seeds in a skillet. After they cooled down, blend them in the blender with the olive oil.
  • Add chickpeas with some water they were cooked in, tahini, salt, pepper, spices mix, lemon juice, and garlic into a food processor. Run it for a couple of minutes until everything is well-blended. Adjust salt and pepper to your taste.
